DESCRIPTION
Winner of the World Whisky Awards for the 'Best Highland Malt in the under-12 years old category, Glencadam pride themselves on producing this whisky without the addition of caramel colouring and without chill filtering the whisky.

The resultant, naturally bottled, Glencadam retains all the naturall occuring fats, oils and enzymes of the whisky spirit - something which most commercial distillers revert to in order to produce a consistent colour and taste for their products.

OFFICIAL TASTING NOTES
Nose: Grassy freshness + citrus tones with hints of spicy oak.

Palate: Clean, crisp citrus tones. A harmony between natural sweetness and soft spicy oak.

Finish: Long and soothing.

ABOUT THE DISTILLERY
Glencadam first opened in 1825 in the ancient city of Brechin, a former royal burgh which is often (mistakenly) thought of as a city since Brechin has its own cathedral.

Glencadam was mothballed during both world wars, during which time the warehouses were instead used to barrack soldiers. There is still a mark on the grass by No. 2 warehouse where their commissary was.

Glencadam is now the only distillery in the county of Angus, an area of the Highlands region of Scotland, and is owned by Angus Dundee distillers - the owner of Tomintoul distillery in Speyside.
